i had sex with my girlfriend and her parents found out. We go to the same church. So i was wondering if i have to confess my sins before doing communion in church again or how does that work i dont want to offend them anymore then what ive done
well i am catholic and i dont want to offend them anymore then what i already done
it was our first time and i dont think we plan on doing it for a long time i love her and she loves me i see me marring her one day as does she

Of course you have to go to Confession. But, if you go there still expecting to carry on sexually with your girlfriend, then don't bother going as you would still be in mortal sin even after the Priest forgave you. When one confesses, one has to have the intention of at least trying to stop doing sin, particularly mortal ones.

If you cannot confess for this reason, then do not go receive Communion---it's as simple as that. I know it most likely won't feel comfortable, but it is better to do this than to commit a sacrilege by receiving Jesus unworthily. Jesus has suffered enough for us, if you feel like you can't let go of serious sin at least pray to Him to help you in this---I would be very surprised that our Lord wouldn't take comfort in the fact that you are turning to Him for help to overcome the terrible place you are right now.

If you do not know the answer to this question, then you should not be participate in Communion.

Sorry. But that is the truth.

You should not participate in Communion until you know the answer to this question.

Im catholic too and really dont confess haha
ussualy I ask god for forgiveness
I got o confession for guidance , or when I dont know what to do for a special sin etc. if I keep commiting it , or if it was a deadly sin , etc.

Yes. Catholics follow the Bible. Fornication is a mortal sin, you cut yourself off from God, not the other way around, and He is waiting for you to come back to him.

John 20:21 - before He grants them the authority to forgive sins, Jesus says to the apostles, "as the Father sent me, so I send you." As Christ was sent by the Father to forgive sins, so Christ sends the apostles and their successors forgive sins.

John 20:22 - the Lord "breathes" on the apostles, and then gives them the power to forgive and retain sins. The only other moment in Scripture where God breathes on man is in Gen. 2:7, when the Lord "breathes" divine life into man. When this happens, a significant transformation takes place.

John 20:23 - Jesus says, "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven. If you retain the sins of any, they are retained." In order for the apostles to exercise this gift of forgiving sins, the penitents must orally confess their sins to them because the apostles are not mind readers. The text makes this very clear.

Matt. 9:8 - this verse shows that God has given the authority to forgive sins to "men." Hence, those Protestants who acknowledge that the apostles had the authority to forgive sins (which this verse demonstrates) must prove that this gift ended with the apostles. Otherwise, the apostles' successors still possess this gift. Where in Scripture is the gift of authority to forgive sins taken away from the apostles or their successors?

James 5:16 - James clearly teaches us that we must “confess our sins to one another,” not just privately to God. James 5:16 must be read in the context of James 5:14-15, which is referring to the healing power (both physical and spiritual) of the priests of the Church. Hence, when James says “therefore” in verse 16, he must be referring to the men he was writing about in verses 14 and 15 – these men are the ordained priests of the Church, to whom we must confess our sins.

Protestants can't find these verses or read them with so called reformist lenses and reject the plain meaning of the text.

no speak to God yourself...catholics might be different...BUT THE BIBLE SAYS WE PRAY TO GOD ourselves...Methodist we go to communion anytime we want...it is first sunday of each month.
