Do I have to buy the Premium Audio Package?

I am considering the purchase of a Scion xD. When building my xD, it asked if i would like to upgrade to the premium audio package. I intend on transferring my subs and amp over from my previous car, but I need to know if it is necessary to purchase the premium system. According to my brother, its not necessary, but I'd like to know your thoughts and answers.
