I started track this year for the first(real) time, and I run distance. I ran once in seventh grade but had no motivation and ended up quitting once I started getting severe shin splints. This year I joined track, and I have really good motivation. I've been running for awhile now, it's been a month or so.
The first day of track practice, I was running a 200 meter relay and after my second go I started breathing really heavily and couldn't regulate it. Finally it was my turn to go again, and I just got up and went, when I finished my turn I didn't breathe regularly for almost 30 minutes. At the end of practice I had really bad heart burn and got really bad charlie horses.
This has happens whenever I run really hard lately. When we do our workouts sometimes I have a spasm, sometimes I don't. Lately I only get it when I run my 800. I just got over a cold, but it was happening before hand as well.
I was at a track meet yesterday, and after running my 800 I was coughing uncontrollably and had a really hard time breathing in between coughs. I ended up having to use my friend's inhaler.
My dad's set up an appointment to see my doctor, and my coach thinks it is sports induced asthma. Do this symptoms seem consistent with that diagnosis?
Any help would be nice : )
Thanks
