I am 22 years old and have never purchased a new car. I'm still driving a 99 pontiac grand AM GT with 73000 miles on it and am looking for a new car.
After all expenses including car insurance, misc. expenses, and adding a little to savings I have about $400 a month in extra income. And have about $3000 already saved up for a down payment.
My current car is going to end up costing me more in repairs than the thing is worth eventually. Would buying a 18k-24k new car be a smart decision? I have pretty good job security and don't see myself losing my income any time soon.
