Do i have an inner ear imbalance? or any suggestions as to what this could be?

I have always had random light headed moments and suffered from migranes, usually resulting in white blotches appearing in my vision. About a year ago I suddenly felt uneasy, my head was cloudy, my ears felt blocked and everything around me just felt off. It is hard to explain the exact feeling.

I have had blood tests, mri scan, hearing test, eye tests and visited a number of different doctors, including a gastronomist and neurologist., none of which have been able to find anything wrong with the my test results. Most recent I have seen an ear, nose and throat doctor who believes I may have an inner ear imbalance. However he keeps referring to a feel of dizzyness, however unless I become stressed or do physical exercise, i rarely find the room spinning around me? I have begun to experience myself waking up in the morning and being sick, and finding it difficult to eat breakfast. I do feel better as the day goes on, however I haven't felt 100% for a while now, there is always a sense of something being off (i think this is the cloudy head other people refer to).

Does anyone have these symptoms or any suggestions as to what these symptoms may be caused by? I have looked at inner ear imbalance however I only have a balancing problem in extreme cases. I have also stopped smoking although this hasn't had a drastic change to my symptoms.

Please let me know. Thank you

do you have ALL of the testing result copies in your possession? if not,get them and go thru them yourself. believe me,there can very well be certain findings that pop up in our MRIs that some, mostly specialists, decide not to actually mention to us that are hard findings. it all comes down to how much real experience and overall knowledge any doc has(or the reading radiologist) that will determine what they "feel" is pertinent enough to tell us about or even find in the hard films. but you do need to be getting all copies of any testing results just for your own files. this has helped me many times just having all my own stuff. there could have been something there that someone decided was not an issue when it very well could be. you just need to see this stuff yourself.

just where was that MRI done at,how far down, into the c spine at least? the symptoms you are having could be from many possible issues from a vascular to spinal or a particular nerve issue somewhere that is being compromised. anything that can affect the actual bloodflow thru the neck area to the brain can also cause you to feel "off' or just not right in your head. but certain spinal issues, espescially within that very heavily innervated c spine can also be causing this too. its a matter of test and rule out til you get to the source of the problem. but DO obtain every single test result done on you(and continue this from now on too) and see what shows up in the summary at the end of at least that MRI. pleaselet me know what you find out along the way. Thank you for your response.

I do have records of the results from all my tests. I will have a look at my MRI and see if there is anything that looks wrong, but to be honest I don't really know what i'm looking for? I used to suffer from lower back pains, mainly caused whilst playing sport, however I have not experienced the same back pains for a few years, long before I experienced the off feelings in my head. I don't know how significant this could be, but the symptoms seemed to stay around the time I had a massage? Could this have any connection?

hi thought id reply. ive been diagnosed with an inner ear disorder and know well the feeling of feeling off. id describe it as my head being full of cotton wool and the world around me not being quite right. i get nauseous and dizzy if i turn my head too quickly. just lately its been suggested to me that the arthritis in my neck might be to blame as i now get a pulsating sensation if i put my head in a certain position. its worth persuing your symptoms so that you can get the right treatment. im intending to see my gp to find out if my problems really are my inner ear because if it is my neck i might be able to get treatment that works.

hi, thank you very much for your response

i don't constantly have a feeling of being dizzy, as the doctors describe as the room spinning around me, however i do feel uneasy and nausea. this feeling usually gets worse, especially when i have a lot of motion around me, or find myself feeling uncomfortable - either because of a change in light or body temperature. this results in me getting cold sweats, and feeling light headed.

i have an appointment next week where they are going to run a test where they flush my inner ear with water? i am not exactly sure what this will be like, but will let you know.
