I just got a minute order on which the judge ruled on a matter that I had in family court. The judge took it under submission, so there was no hearing in which the judge explained his opinion. The minute order just says denied, with no explanation as to why. I submitted to the judge a letter requesting a written explanation. I was wondering if anyone knew if he has to give me an explanation or can he ignore my request. This is a family law matter in California.
Do I have a right to a written explanation of a court order?
