Do I have a chance of being accepted at New York University (NYU)?

The average student admitted to NYU this year had a GPA of 3.63 and an SAT score between 1300 and 1440 (out of 1600). If you take the same number of classes every semester and get all A's your junior year, your highest possible GPA would be (3.25 * 2 + 4.0 * 1) / 3 = 3.5, which is still kinda low - but you'd have a decent shot, and every school likes to see improvement. So take some advanced courses, do very well in them, and find some way to make your application stand out.

I will be a junior in high school and I have a gpa of 3.25. I know it's bad but I can still try harder. I haven't taken any SATs yet. But if I do well on them do I still have a good chance? What if my gpa rises?
I really want to go there. What should I do to improve my chances?
