Do I have a case and can I complain?

Last night the police came and rang on my door at 00:30. The allegation was that i have been harassing him sending unwanted text messages to my ex since we broke up which was Monday. Actually I haven't been sending any texts to him except the one to tel him it's over , I don't want him back and to not bother me anymore, because he sent 17 texts since we broke up asking me to come back after he walked out alone. Do the Police has right to bother me at 00:30 for such a reason? And do I have a case because I was asleep and got very stressed.

If they had a report of harassment, it's their duty to come bangin on your door. You don't have any type of case whatsoever against the police. The only course of action would be to go the route of filing a false police report and harassment (by him sending the police to your door). It should be a pretty cut and clear situation since there would be definite proof that a text wasn't sent.

Be sure to keep all 17 texts from your ex for evidence in the future should you need it. Keep records with dates of everything he's putting you through in case you have to go to court or get a restraining order.
