Absolutely! Holland lops are my favorite breed ever. They are very curious, smart, and layed back. My rabbits will hop around for about 10-15 minutes and then plop down beside me. They are so much fun, and also very cute with those floppy ears! Even though they have longer hair, they only shed about 2 times a year, and its not much at all and lasts only a few days. (at least mine have). Anyways, this sounds like the breed for you, and they are the most mellow breed out there. For the person who said the Mini Lop, these are almost the same, except the Mini Lop is bigger (weird right?) but i have also heard the Hollands are a bit sweeter. Also, males are less territorial, and from my experience a lot sweeter, my female holland went through her sexual maturity and was a devil! But now that she has had a litter of babies, she is the sweetest thing ever! So i would just suggest getting your bunny spayed or nuetuered when about 6 months old (recommended age) to save you a lot of headaches of cleaning when your rabbit has sprayed all over the place!

good luck with your baby!
