Do high schools teach astronomy as a subject?

I have heard of some larger high schools having that class as an option but mine did not.

It depends on your state or province's science curriculum, which varies from state to state, province to province. Most jurisdictions offer it as part of the science curriculum, and may offer specific astronomy or earth science courses where there is enough demand and someone qualified to teach it. Unfortunately most high school science teachers are biologists, and few are comfortable teaching astronomy.

I'm not sure many high schools do teach astronomy, but I'm sure there are a few that do. In fact, I'm currently in high school, and I'm taking astronomy next year!

Yes they do in science . I used to get taught in 2008 about this Topic astronomy and i think they do it now too
