Do gay neighborhood actually exist?

i was planning on moving me and my son out to california, until i heard there were gay neighborhoods. i dont want to take my son trick or treating in a gay neighborhood they'll give him lube and condoms and tryin to make him gay. Is this something my mom came up with to keep me from going or do they actually exist?
