Do fish mate.Someone told me that the female lays the eggs.Then the male comes along...

...and fertilizes them.? And i have a fan tail gold fish.I thought that gold fish use there tails to move.But it seems to me that my fan tail uses is body to move is this norman. It is almost like the waddles threw the water.
 
I know that for betta, the male makes a bubblenest, squeezes the eggs out of the female to fertilize it, then takes care of the babies(not sure on this last part).

My goldfish dont waddle through the water, although they havent been moving much so I cant be sure....
 
yes, all creatures mate except for some asexual slugs that split in two like aliens

oh, and dont try to breed your fish until learning alot more than you seem to know right now, go to the petstore and ask, the people there usually enjoy what they do and will be more than happy to talk your ear off.
also, goldfish are kinda nasty pets, they make a lot of nasty and then eat the nasty, fight with each other over space, etc.
 
Large bodied goldfish like ryukins always seem to waddle through the water.

Fish do mate.
