Do/Did your schools give swats?

my husband went to a private school. i went to a public school.

he thinks that all public schools have banned swatting and only private schools do that. My school did that and i graduated 2004. Did the law change or what?
swatting means getting hit on your butt with a wooden paddle. a form of punishment given by a principal or teacher
