Do customer service people know anything?

i have called a lot of customer service phone numbers for many business.
a lot of time these people aren't able to answer some of my questions. i am guessing that either they don't know or they are trying to hide something. what do you think?
 
Well it depends.
Most of the time they are trained for general situations.
If you are asking deep, informative questions, then chances are they will not know it, for they can not know every little thing.
If you have a very specific question, chances are they will transfer you to the department which will best suit your needs.
You cant expect them to know every tiny detail about everything in the world. As I said, gernally they are trained for the most common, basic questions.
 
Most of the time the people calling customer service have no idea whats going on other than "It dont work"
 
Most large companies have no concept of decent service, and they do not think like customers.
