Do conservatives ever get remembered by history?

I think not because "conserving" the status quo is neither important nor memorable. Movers and shakers come up with new ideas and are remembered for making PROGRESS. Every great person you've heard about was liberal.

Dr. Martin Luther King was a REPUBLICAN.
ABE LINCOLN was a REPUBLICAN.
RONALD REAGAN was a REPUBLICAN.
The List goes on and on of great conservatives.

You were saying?

I love this argument. "Change for change's sake". You do realize if you keep "moving and shaking", you will eventually(or maybe already) destroy the vision the founders of America had.

And that last sentence is the most idiotic thing I have ever read.

Ever hear of these Conservatives:

Andrew Jackson
Abraham Lincoln
Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt
Dwight D. Eisenhower
Martin Luther King

just to name a few.

Next time stay awake in your high school civics class.

Conserving the status quo might not seem interesting, but conserving the values of the American Revolution is very interesting. Whereas being the decadent generation that destroyed America isn't really something to be proud of.

PROGRESS of what?

Liberalism progressed and became Socialism/Communism and killed Millions! I would rather be conservative and save lives.

"Conserving" is not the tenet of conservatism...it's a calculated progression, responsible in nature.

Classical Liberals (the founding father's) were conservative -- they've given you the liberties you have today.

"Modern Liberals" are clueless...they're the ideologues who think they deserve as much as the next guy b/c they have a pulse...that seems to be the disconnect here.
