Do colleges place the difficulty of your sport into consideration when we apply?

I'm in football as a 2 year varsity and I spend a lot of time in football but I'm not good enough to be recruited. However, I still have a 3.8 gpa and taking lots of AP's and Honors. Do colleges care about the fact that I have to spend a lot of time at a sport and will they be more lenient?

They will give you more extracurricular credit for a sport that takes a lot of time than for something which takes less time, but they won't give at all on academics, since academics are supposed to be your priority, and if you couldn't handle the academics, you shouldn't have taken on such time-consuming extracurricular activities to begin with.
