So I've been doing some research and I'm not sure if Betta fish like warm water or not.
But I always have my Air Conditioner on because I get very hot easily and it's hot where I live. And so my room if often quite cold.
& I know that the water in my Betta's bowl is even more cooler than the room temperature itself.
So what I've been doing is.. I have this lamp, and it's yellow sort of dimmed light bulbs and if you have your hand next to it it'll be nice & warm.. So I just put one light bulb next to the glass of the bowl.
And so far the water is nice, it's not warm, it's a little cool still.
But a lot better than before.
There's also a lot of shade spots in the bowl for him to go in if he wants..
So I was wondering if it was okay to do that?
It's just a regular lamp for homes. Not specifically made for fish tanks.
Please let me know, thanks!
Oh my god,aww Beckie that's sad.
Sorry that happened to you! I came home from school one day when I was younger & one of my Betta's was dead too. The reason is still unknown for that one :/
Well I've had a ton of Betta fish through my life.
And they've all lasted up to a year to 3 yrs.
I never did anything special for them.
They had small bowls (because we were told that was okay, but now I realize that I'm older it isn't right to have them in that small of a bowl)
But I figured since my lamp was right THERE, I'd provide him with warmth if I could.
I'm sure he'd be fine without it.
All my other fish have been fine, and enjoyed themselves just as much.
