Do authors have any control over whom narrates their books?

I love Daniel Silva books, but the narrator of Prince of Fire is putting me to asleep.

I also think that John Grisham should stick with Michael Beck. He is a great narrator.

i'm not sure. it depends on the individula contract. an unknown auhor would have less say than the likes of stephen king.

In most cases it depends on the contract they have, how much money the book is making and the publishing company. Best selling books usually have some really great narrators, some others though, and it's sometimes not in their control but I have heard of some authors that insist with their publishing companies that they keep the narrator they have for their books after a certain amount of time of working with them.
