Do artificial sweeteners harm teeth like real sugar does?

We all know that sugar in sodas, candy and fruit can do damage to teeth. But do artificial, zero calorie sweeteners like Sweet n' Low, Splenda, and NutraSweet harm teeth? Since the principle behind, for example, Splenda, is to render the sugar molecule indigestible (in Splenda's case by changing the hydrogen bonds to chlorine bonds, or so I've been told), does the altered molecule effect teeth in a new way, the same way as sugar, or not at all? Thank you in advance for the help.
