Do Apple stores still sell brand-new 3G iPod touches or is 4G the "in" thing?

I am curious to know if I can go to an Apple store or online to purchase a brand new 3G iPod touch. Is that possible or would I end up having to buy a 4G one?

And what is the difference between the two, anyway (I hate how technology changes like this)?
