Do angel fish scales grow back?

Yesterday I bought this absolutely BEAUTIFUL solid black lace angelfish from one of our local pet shops. I'm planning on getting a 55 gallon tank in a couple weeks that would go great with this beauty, but right now all I have is my original 10 gallon that I'm working with. I know my tank is overstocked like crazy right now, but I wanted that fish so much. So for now, I'm doing huge daily water changes for the next couple weeks and moved my tiny fish to a spare 1 gallon that I have. My tank originally had a hollow log ornament and several plants, but my angel just hid in the back. I figured it was having trouble moving since it was so large, so I took out most of the decoration. However, I noticed little spots of grayish silver on its sides that look like the scales got knocked off (these spots weren't there at the store), probably from running into things in the crowded tank. Will these scales ever grow back?

Your fish will regenerate in time. Scales and fins will grow back fully from minor injuries or disease. Adding some Stress Coat will help him regenerate a little faster, but I suggest keeping an eye on it every day to make sure any infections or fungus do not set in on the injury site.

Yes ... they grow back.
Just keep up the water quality and a good diet and things should go well until you get the 55g in a couple of weeks.
Just keep an eye out for stress from the tight confines.

If you keep water quality perfect there should be no need for salt or any medications.
