Do android phones always require internet?

I want to get a nice phone and I might want to wait for a new phone coming out, it's called the Motorola Morrison and it is an android phone. I can't get it if it has internet, do android phones require internet? And does the Motorola Morrison require internet if android phones don't always need internet?
