Do Americans actually believe they invented the first car? (Ford)?

This just shows what incorrect things they are learning in their schools. On the short list of things people always come up with of what americans invented, the first car is always on the list. Henry Ford did not invent the first car! He was just the first American to invent a car. He actually just came up with the assembly line! Karl Benz, a German, not American engineer was actually the first inventor of the car. (Mercedes-Benz) It makes me sick how Americans drive down the streets eating Walkers crisps in their dull-coulored left-sided steering wheel cars to the nearest Mac Donalds, wanting to take credit for everything.
If an American say they didn't know this, they're chatting bollocks! Americans are always telling me this!
Yeah, nothing to say now. Because you just found out I'm right! I proved you yanks wrong. Not so bad now afterall, am I?

I agree..

The car is a GERMAN INVENTION.

But people seem to think that it was American, because Ford was the first to industralize it.

Germans invented also the first rockets and missiles (V2).

Actually the American Space Program has benefited from the German engineers and scientists that were forced to collaborate with the USA, after the collapse of Nazi Germany.

In fact, even the Manhattan Project has been possible only thanks to the German and Italian scientists (many were Jewish escaping the Nazi regime, and the others were non-Jewish who were either forced or convinced to help the Allies).

Therefore, the NASA should say "DANKE" to Germany.

Germans are the best, even nowadays, in motors and cars technology,
And they are extremely important in the current aeronautical and spatial technology, and military technology (alongside the French, in their joined European projects, whic lead to the creation of the Eurofighter aircraft, the Airbus plane, the european tanks, the weapons, the riffles, the european satellites,etc,etc...).

But it is also true that we must say "Thank you " to the Americans, since they invented the first planes, the first light bulb, the first telephone, etc...

No, not the first but they did use the assembly lines (Ford) first and put the world on wheels and food on the table ($5/day wages).
