I often see guys driving around in Jeep Wranglers with no doors. I am buying a 1997 TJ. It does not have the half doors, will these be removable?

Yes, however to be legal you may have to have your mirrors relocated If they are on the doors, then when you remove the doors your removing the mirrors, state laws require you have side view mirrors. And as mentioned before some will require the switch to keep the interior lights off. I believe http://www.quadratec.com has the mirror kit as well.

as far as i know yea it should be. i had a 01 X and they were with the full panel door. wranglers are like legos.. they get down to almost bare bones. roof, doors, window folds down, hood comes right off. good stuff.

Why yes indeed they will. On the bottom of the top pin you will see a nut, simply remove this ( it is a left hand thread by the way) and use some PB blaster to help ease it out. You will want to swing the door in and out while lifting up on it to get it off. And you might want to look into quadratec for light switch springs. When you remove the doors the interior light will be on unless you pull the fuse or buy the switch springs. They cost about $11.
