yes. you can not access your flash drive if your PC does not have a driver telling it how. (A 'driver' is a piece of software that tells your computer how to use a piece of hardware that is plugged into it. You have one each for your monitor, printer, and keyboard as well.)
however, you shouldn't worry too much about that, because flash drives install the driver automatically into any computer you plug them in to, so you don't have to install anything yourself =]
