Do all features work on the Google's Samsung Nexus S phone with wi-fi only?

Will all features (including e-mail) work on a Nexus S phone through wi-fi only? Are there some things that will only work with a data plan?

Is it like the iPhone where I can use wi-fi for everything internet-related?
