DIY creak fix

just joined the forums to say thanks for this - the creaks been annoying me for a while now and i was about to return it before i read this.

thanks again

Cutting does not work for the rogers version of the phone as it is pretty different. however, the felt fix works!

I didn't have any felt so I used hockey tape, just as good

For those of you still having troubles finding the small plastic strip, here's another explanation.

Close the device, look straight above the camera button, where the chin and screen meet. There is a small plastic strip that can easily be shaved away at with an exacto/razor blade. If you still don't see where it is, continue looking in that area, and then press the screen where it always creaks and you can see the plastic piece rubbing up against the screen.

Easiest way to do it: find something to put between the chin and the screen so you can shave away at it while it is on something sturdy, such as a table.

Thanks again to the OP, the creaking was driving me nuts, now it's all fixed

I see alot of folks concerned that it is hard, or will damage your phone. I literally did this in 20 seconds. The plastic is very soft and easy to cut with an xacto knife. Stop worrying. This is a very easy fix, and it works. I believe the only function of that piece is to be a spacer between the screen and lip. If you dont slam the screen open/shut, this should not affect the functionality of the phone in any way.

Kudos for this great fix!
