I heard that in my state if you're married to someone you're responsible for half their debt. I also heard that if you divorce someone, everything purchased prior to the marriage is kept by the purchaser, and everything purchased during the marriage is split equally.
Question: If they split everything equally, does that include my debt? Because if that's the case, I have $45,000 in student loans I wouldn't mind splitting if he chooses to contest the divorce?
