Divine Heresy

Dino Cazares, formerly of Fear Factory, formed a new band with ex-Nile drummer Tim Yeung, and Killswitch Engage vocalist runner up Tommy Cummings called "Divine Heresy". I picked up their debut album "Bleed the Fifth". It's a pretty solid release. The drums and guitars sync up really well and if you've heard Killswitch Engage you can definitely tell why Cummings was considered for the vocal spot in that band.

The cd falls short in the leaRAB department, which is a little disappointing. I would definitely enjoy it a lot more if it was a little more diverse in terms of influences, but overall, it's a good, solid album.

Whatcha think?

for what it is, it's good. I don't see it being a critical success but it's ok for a mindless blast of death metal. It's a good challege to try play along with Tim Yeung too! haha

I imagine their next album will be better/more diverse, just because they'll have gotten better at corabining their styles.

I really like Fear factory, but this did'nt really impress me. I liked the drums, but mixing commercial choruses with intense blasts of speed does'nt really fit. As you say though, time will tell.

Just figured I'd mention..by the way...that the song I posted a link to the video for is the most mainstream song on the album.

wow....way to raise a thread from the grave.

Haha...I haven't been here in so long... I don't think I've listened to this band at all since I posted this thread.....in 2007.......
