Distributor Cap on a 91 Buick Roadmaster?

When you take off a distributor cap, it has a little rotor button thing under neath it. It is white and has a piece of metal at the end. I assume it spins around under the distributor cap, and it sparks all the cylinders. If that little rotor button gets moved around while the distributor cap is off, will that affect the firing sequence and make it run funny? It got hit and moved and I don't know exactly where it was. Should there be arrows on it to line it up? THANKS IN ADVANCED!!!

well yes and no ! if it gets moved then it won,t fire on the right cylinder. take the rotor off and there should be a little square peg and it,s suppose to fit in the square hole. i can,t see how it could move with 2 screws in it but in any case yes it will throw off the firing order.
