dissertation proposal? on subject of sociology/media?

Hiya i would like a lil bit of help. Im trying to come up with a topic/question to answer on my dissertation. Im more interested in the media side on the topics of media control, advertising effects on society and glamourisation of drugs/alcohol. Im not sure what my question should be im really stuck on it. If theres anyone whos done a dissertation who could maybe brainstorm some other ideas and give me some advice it would be greately appreciated. Thankyou
