most compelling cases? Discuss how these philosophers are similar and different. In the conclusion, explain why you are more prone to agree with either Eastern or Western thinking.

Do we get to choose? I choose Ibn Rusd and Aquinas. They knew each other, were familiar with each other's works, and made the most compelling cases for reason.

Which philosopher's? ANY? I'll compare Herman Hesse to Herman Hesse, okay?

Herman Hesse is a westerner promoting Buddhism. Buddhism is a silly philosophy, Herman Hesse is silly. I will always feel shortchanged because I was exposed to Buddhism which argues against life and then offers a cypher as a substitute. Herman Hesse didn't get this because he was too in 'awe' of eastern thinking, because he is a westerner.
