...THE WORKFORCE HAD NOT BEE? I'm doing AS economics and am stuck on the following question:
'Scottish manufacturing suffered a blow yesterday when NCR announced it would cut 650 jobs from its Dundee plant because it could make automated teller machihes (ATMs) more cheaply overseas. Production will be moved to plants in China, India and Hungary. Trade unions warned that a similar number of jobs could be lost as a result of the knock-on effect on suppliers and other businesses in the city.'
DISCUSS WHETHER THE WORKERS AT THE NCR PLANT IN DUNDEE MIGHT HAVE KEPT THEIR JOBS IF THE WORKFORCE HAD NOT BEEN REPRESENTED BY TRADE UNIONS?
