The American Experiment has not been a great success. The wealth of the U.S. comes from a mix of rich deposits of minerals, oil, natural gas, and timber. While probably not intended, the part of your question about "sensitivity to diversity" explains why diversity does work in favor of a culture. In the productive portion of the workforce it is difficult waste time attempting understand other workers. It is a competitive production game outside the friendly confines of academia and government work. The U.S. would worth preserving if it had a culture. Instead, there is little sense of community in your land.
