material and the density of liquid? I need some help on my mechanical principles assignment...i dont understand the question :(

Evaluate the methods that might be used to determine the density of a solid material and the density of a liquid?
 
First measure out a specific volume of water such as100cm3 in a beaker.
Then place the solid in the same beaker. Note the change in volume. If the 100cm3 of water rises to 150cm3 then we know the volume/mass of the solid is 50cm3
see how much the solid weighs on a set of scales.
The density is the weight divided by the volume
