What's to discuss? It was a movie. A story. One that was FULL of holes that you could steer an ocean liner through. It was based on the popular myth that the law is a nice thing, but ultimately helpless, and that major offenders could skip out of charges on the slightest loopholes and technicalities.
Such technicalities have always been rare, and on the occasions that they've happened, it's usually been the result of the prosecution trying to "help" the evidence along to make their case.
"The Star Chamber" has had about as much influence on the criminal justice system as "Star Wars' has had upon the NASA space program.
