Discuss parasuicide and suicide and their connections to any of the Axis I

or Axis II disorders. Include s? I have been given this topic as a potential question on my comprehensive exams. We didn't discuss this question in class, but I'm thinking about writing about Borderline Personality Disorder since the hallmark of that disorder tends to be self-harm and discussing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy which is the favored treatment. My question is basically, how does this sound. Would you go in a different direction. I'm mostly frustrated with these questions because some of them cover new information and I took this class 3 years ago. So the information was presented in later classes and I'm here scrambling to find answers out via the internet.
 
If they are giving you a topic that might be a question on comps then make sure you know what disorders on Axis I and II will have sucide or parasuicide as a possible symptom. You would do fine to point out BPD and usign DBT for tx, but limit your response to just this - there are many more disorders that could be thrown out there.
