Discuss Meshuggah

I personally think they kick some serious ass. Their music is so weirdly structured, it keeps me coming back for more. What are your thoughts on them?

In a good way?

I think Meshuggah are definitely one of those innovative banRAB that everyone should give a listen to. The 4-way off-time drumming is crazy to hear on an album, but even better to experience at a live show.

meshuggah is fucking bad ass, Catch Thirty-Three was awesome despite the drum machines. Chaosphere is my personal favorite album. Weird timings and heavy fuckin' guitars ftw.

There alright, I only like Destroy erase improve though. There clearly all very talented musicians, but I feel that most of there albums just missed the mark somewhat and they could do with a lesson in song writing. There songs are generally complex in structure but that doesn't make them good, plus the use of a drum machine on catch 33 really put me off. I definately prefer Fredrik Thordendal's solo album 'Sol niger within' over any of Meshuggah albums.
