Watson and Crick had issues with the shape and dimension of the model, therefore they went and stole the information without crediting the Xray information provided by Rosalind. However, Rosalind Franklin, a female biophysicist working with Wilkins, was the one who actually performed the crystallography and took the photographs that Watson and Crick interpreted to obtain their data for the double helix shape and sizes without that they were in the dust.
