Discuss and elaborate two aspects of living in Southern California?

I lived there for 3 years and only felt one little earthquake.
Things you'll deal with more often: smog, traffic, wildfires, car thieves.
We had one car stolen and another one almost stolen.
I suppose the weather is nice but I like a change of seasons. And while it never gets that cold it most certainly gets hot!
It's nice to be close to the beach and theme parks.
 
A particularly great feature of living in Southern California is the beautiful weather year round. The temperatures are warm even in the winter when most other areas of the country are enduring temperatures below freezing. This warm weather is a special boon to the farmers and gardeners. Fruit trees abound in southern California. And the recreational gardener can grow anything from avocado and banana trees, to rare tropical flowers. Many people move to California just to enjoy the good weather.

A more ominous aspect of Southern California living is dealing with the numerous and high level earthquakes. Much of the area lies along the San Andreas Fault line and after the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, most buildings have been built to strict codes that reinforce the buildings to keep them safe during an earthquake. Nevertheless, earthquakes can be a frightening aspect of living in Southern California.
