Discrimination or not?employer tells me my pants are too tight but my body is built...

...Like this! what do i do? I was singled out along with another spanish girl, and 1 Jamaican. We ethnic girls are built a certain way. I have hips and a really big butt, the others are busty, we were told to buy new clothes or go up 2 sizes. I feel very uncomfortable, I told them my body looks like this and no matter what i wear you will always have my butt popping out. We are being targteted but what about fat people whose clothese are tight allover? I t does not ssem fair they are accepted and because my clothese are tight on one part of my body, i am being targeted.
 
I wore red trousers to work one day and the 2nd in command, a woman told me that they weren't very business like and told me not to wear them again.

I think she was just jealous as she had lost her looks a long time ago and couldn't pull something like that off.

I know how you feel being told you can't wear something. Do other girls wear clothing like you described but get away with it? Then it could be seen as discrimination.
 
Well, while I am a fan of the ladies with the big ah...curves. I see the point, you're not there to socialize or pick up guys. You're there to do a job, so quit your b****in and do it.
 
Your body may be built a certain way, yes, but that doesn't mean you should be squeezing into a size small. I know how horrible it is to wear larger size clothes, but you may have to consider it.
 
An employer has the "right" to discriminate on anything he or she wishes, as long as it doesn't violate federal or state laws.

Basically, if the discrimination is based on race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, or disability, and in some states sexual orientation, that is illegal.

Discrimination based on tight fitting pants is not illegal.

Unless you can prove that your employer is discriminating based on a prohibited reason, you have no case. Does he treat all Spanish or Jamaican people differently than you? All? Can you prove it? (Questions for you, I can't answer them)
 
IF the employer feels you are dressed inappropriately he has the right to ask you to dress differently. You could have a case if you can prove he is only targeting a specific group of people but he likely has better lawyers.
 
clothes that fit are not tight. am not sure what your age /size etc and without a picture i can not side with you. because i do not understand why your clothes are tight if you are wearing the right size.
