Disconnecting in STEAM games server browser?

i get disconnected in the internet whenever i refresh, or find a server in Battlefield bad company 2, team fortress 2, and valve games....

is it the router crashing in my network?

should i buy a router and plug it here in my room so it wont crash?
what is the reason why i keep on disconnecting?

and this only happens when i browse servers or refresh thats all
