I have a question please, I started a job about three weeks ago and was under the impression they done a basic disclosure before I was employed however they asked me yesterday for details to give to them to complete the disclosure!
About 5 years ago maybe just under 5, I split from a eight year relationship and moved in with my parents but a month later they split up so it was a bad time in my life I had no one I could really talk to, I got in with the wrong crowd and started drinking a lot but long story short I was caught with a very small amount of cannabis which I received a fine for! I now have a wife and two kids and worked hard to get my life back on track I have had other jobs since the fine but no disclosures done apart from this new job!
I havent declared the charge on my disclosure because If I declared it they might not have employed me and I am stuck because if I declared it and the disclosure came back clean then I shot myself in the foot! I was under the impression this might be wiped from my record by now as I havent been in the slightest bit of trouble since then!
Will most employers just get rid of me or will they maybe see my mistake and give me a chance I am worrying about it every day at work its horrible, I dont want to let my family down esspecially at Xmas! Any comments much appreciated!
