I got a chapter 7-16 discharge with a RE code of 3. Basically I fractured my ankle and since it was going to take to long to heal, I was offered AIT or a discharge with eligibility to return to OCS in six months. I took the discharge.

My question is how hard is it to go back, can I just slip back in or am I going to have to reapply. Are they going to give me a lot of grief over it?

I am motivated to be an officer, but I just got hit with a setback and want to go back in.

You will have to reapply.

it will not be as bad as last time though.

You will have to be issued a waiver for your ankle.

That's why the RE-3 - 3 means you need a waiver.

But all your paper work, recommendations, etc, will still hold true.

But it will be more than just proving your ankle is healed.

Each OCS class is different, so if you reapply when a bush of really smart. athletic people apply, you will have to bea them out.

But I really do not see a problem.

Just make sure you rehab the heck out of it

Because you will need full range of motion.
