I've just watched a fabulously cheesy disaster movie about the Earth's poles swapping over and causing all the normal end-of-the-world movie disaster stuff. I enjoyed it, but it got me thinking: I like a nice disaster movie, but are there any where it doesn't all turn out ok in the end? You know, where there isn't a fabulously unlikely magical solution that makes it all ok again? I would like to see one where everyone dies for a change...

Army of darkness might have depending on what ending you saw.

Yeah, but the storm still ended though, and the environment was all clean again...

ThreaRAB though, of course! Why didn't I think of that?!

I though 'AI' was an awful ending. Plenty of special effects and you get to see a flooded New York of the future (but with the Twin Towers).

wow yeah. army of darkness scared the willies out of me as a kid. it gave a very claustrophobic style ending. didnt it end with the rebirth of the anti-christ? pretty depressing. was there a different ending? actually, scratch that. just remembered, army of darkness is something else. prince of darkness is the one i'm thinking of.

loved the way DJ shadow sampled it in his endtroducing album
