Disappointed Shippers #22: When you're dreaming with a broken heart the giving up is the hardest part.

Why do you think they have a better chance?

Based on what we got the last few episodes of the season to me it seems like they will always go back to Chuck/Blair.

I am not an Hr/R fan but I would honestly not mind them if it wasn't for the epilogue. I was very upset when I read the last pages of the 7th book and saw what JKR decided to do with the trio (but that's for another thread). Luna and Harry had a magical, unique connection that he had with no one else. And I can just see them together! See them walking around, talking, having fun! She would make him laugh and smile and I cannot say the same for Ginny. I doubt that Harry's relationship with Ginny lasted for 19 years because I cannot imagine them being together.

Paige/Kyle, I've been watching Charmed lately, and I realised that most of my pairings did not have a happy ending. PK was one of them, although I liked Henry too. I just have a soft spot for these two. All he wanted was to get revenge for his parents death and then Paige came into his life and he fell in love with her...I think I have a thing for doomed couples :(

Damon/Elena

They were written pretty well in Season 1.

Season 2 was terrible. Damon has done So much bad stuff.

I don't know if he can be redeemed though.

I hope he can and I'm hoping it happens Season 3.

Chase/Thirteen

I had lowered my expectations as much as a shipper can. And I really don't usually ship, I hadn't been obsessed about a couple like this before. All I wanted was for them to hook up even if their relationship would possibly fall apart. After all, House isn't about "happily ever after" type of stories, so I wouldn't have expected this romance to be any different. So I was satisfied with just seeing them get together. Instead, from the looks of it, I won't even be getting this. I won't probably ever get even a kiss from them. I don't blame the writers or the show for that, I do believe everything turned out unexpectedly for them too. It just shows how unlucky I am I guess. :(

I really like Jen, it was so sad she had to die. I prefered her to Joey and I absolutely loved her frienRABhip with Jack :sigh:

I think Dawson should have definitely ended up with someone but since the finale revolved around Joey's choice I guess it would have been too rushed to pair him with someone as well

THIS. So much. I felt the same about Booth/Brennan as you did but that was shot all to hell when the writers decided to taint them forever in the utter mess that was season six. Breaks my heart. I can't even look at them the same way because of what they did to Booth and what a complete and utter douche they turned him into. They portrayed it like Brennan was the 'ultra awkward nerd' who was hopelessly in love with the 'unattainable jock' who was head over heels for the 'cheerleader'. They don't bother to give Booth a POV and they don't put ANY effort into showing Booth still has feelings for Brennan. The worst part was for a lot of the season, I couldn't even be sure if he liked Brennan anymore as a person, let alone in a romantic way. Anyway, it was completely straightforward. Booth has moved on with another woman who's NOT a consolation prize (which he told to Brennan's face while she was crying hysterically. I will never able able to forgive that scene) and he would marry her, with Brennan not being a factor at all. They then turned Booth into a angry, and pathetic man who blames all his problems on women, and one who NEVER takes responsibility for his romantic failings. After he got rejected by his girlfriend, Brennan was there for him without hesitation, yet all he could give her was some crappy ultimatum. He then put Brennan up there on the same level as the other woman who broke his heart, therefore making Brennan nothing special, just one of many woman who had rejected him at one point. Fact: Booth is a commitment addict and as soon as a woman does something he doesn't like, the relationship is over. I know Booth comes from an abusive household as he had a father who was a drunk, and I can assume he has many issues because of that, but the show portrays him as someone who never has to own up to anything he does wrong. That's because the showrunners don't think he's acted wrong. So there's nothing he has to take responsibility for. They attempted to give Booth and Brennan some fluffy moments later in the season, but they only felt forced after everything that happened. Then instead of truly trying to fix things, they completely swept EVERYTHING under the rug and hooked them off-screen like it was some insignificant little after thought. The showrunners also told us that they wanted to skip over them experiencing the fresh glow of love and if we wanted to see them get together, we should go watch some porn. Ridiculous. Who expects to see a ship rolling around in a graphic way on network tv anyway? All we wanted to see was an emotional resolution after six seasons of will they/won't they. What kind of show doesn't give that to their audience? I really don't know. Now they are having a baby. BECAUSE BABIES FIX EVERYTHING. I don't care what the writers intended, but they turned Booth and Brennan into two people who were just thrown together because of a baby, instead of two people who wanted to really truly wanted to be together. They took away all the love, and emotional intensity away from the BB relationship. Their relationship feels so cold and clinical, and while they are going to be together next season, the damage is done. IMO, I feel like they will never be as great as they used to be or could have been. That's not to say I don't still care about them or won't enjoy their future scenes but it will never be the same for me. This is definitely the one ship that disappointed me the most in all my ships. I had such high hopes.

I'm really disappointed with how they've handled Jessica and Hoyte on True Blood this season. I don't like seeing them fight! And I hate that she felt she had to wipe his memory after telling him she drank another man's blood.

I'm so glad the OC ended when it did too. The finale was really perfect imo. Minus the lack of Marissa. But there were emotional enough scenes with her in the season 3 finale when she was going to leave.

 This. I haven't watched season five in forever, so I don't remeraber much from it, but the last two seasons were horrible for them with April and Chris and whatnot. :pout:

Sll of it so much  Especially the bolded part is exactly the way I felt. Even though I'm an R/Hr fan, but I completelly share your thoughts on Harry - I never thought he was made for marriage or even for long lasting relationship. Maybe at 30 or 40 I thought he's meet someone he would want to end up with, but not at the point of his Hogwarts years. And definitelly not his nuraber one fangirl. But when Luna appeared... something just clicked from the start. They felt connected from the very beginning. Luna could understand him better than anyone who knew him for years, she knew how to get to him. And she brought out an inner child in him, a happy child that he never was. He could be himself with her and so could she. By the end of book 5 I said: "I thought Harry is meant to end up alone but now I'm sure he enRAB up with this girl and they would be such a great couple. They are so perfect for each other". Adn I still don't get why they didn't end up together. They had everything for amazing, beautiful relationship. Luna is the only girl I can imagine Harry with, still, even after all those years since the epiloge. Even in book 7, when it was already obvious that they won't end up together, they had a bond and connection that was stronger than Harry's bond with anyone else. she could understand him without worRAB and recognize him "just by his expression". She was the last girl not from the trio he talked to before the epiloge and she knew exactly what he needed. They had it ALL. I will be forever bitter, I swer.

I can see that too  I think they both where Willow's soulmates and she was meant to end up with either of them.

ITA on Willow/Oz! They where adorable and real and after Tara's death, IMO, it should have been Oz and not Kennedy... Willow always had a connection with him. I wish they at least had stayed frienRAB and Oz had stayed on the show.

This so much. And the irony is that I wasn't even a PC shipper (I was irrelevent to all the Charmed couples except Piper/Leo tbh) but what was done to Cole's character and the way he was handled in S4 got me SO mad. It was cruel, disrespectful to fans, actor, character and a story itself and their relationship with Phoebe was cheapened. They put them into a place where both characters started being unlikeable and then they made Phoebe killing him... and being glad about it. It was horrible. WHY?! Why couldn't they just kill him off but leave Phoebe loving him. It would have been sad but at least respectful.

I actually think Dair have a better chance than Chair now.

CB have just turned into a... fail. :pout:

Adding to that:

Chuck/Blair. They have been so effed up to the point of no fixing, IMO.
