Is there a way to disable the immobiliser on a ford focus (2000), I lost my keys but have had new keys cut but ford want £120 to program them to the car (I don't have any original keys to program it myself). The guy who towed the car home said there is a easy way to do it but wouldn't tell me because he would lose his job, the locksmith who made the keys also said it was possible but he couldn't remember how to do it.
Checked the insurance and they wont cover my keys.

If it were that easy, every punk car thief would be doing it, wouldn't they? Disabling your immobilizer disables the car.

Plus, if you did manage to get the car running with no immobilizer, and it was stolen, you would not have insurance because you would have been paying for a policy on a protected car, not an unprotected one. You would also face investigation from the police regarding charges you had your own car stolen.

I am afraid you shall have to pay up - But do not despair - check your contents insurance you may find you are covered for the loss of the keys - I had the same problem - Good Luck -

you can't. Not unless you are in the habit of knowing how to reprogram an ecu.
If you are within reach of bristol or bath message me and i'll give you number of a garage that will reprogram your new keys for lots less and supply more if you need them.
