Same here! I must have watched this movie at least once a day growing up! I tell you this movie has so many great memories attached to it that it isn't even funny! If only they would have made a DD2 with the same characters!

To this day this movie still is one of the best dancing movies I've ever seen and the soundtrack is still fantastic to this day!

Dirty Dancing is my favorite Patrick Swayze movie. I have Dirty Dancing 20th Anniversary on DVD and I also have Dirty Dancing the 20th Anniversary Soundtrack

Yeah. DD is one of my favorite movies ever, and I'm glad everything worked out okay in the end too.

I saw this movie on stage in Chicago in January. It was awesome!!! The play/musical was just like the film with additional scenes.

I love that movie too
I just watched it again two days ago :sigh: It's really a great movie and with great music too :D
So great idea to have a thread on it ! I love the title :in_love:

Dirty Dancing *____* it's one of my favorite movies. I really Love it. I've watched it so many times that I can't remember how many..

my favourite dance film of alltime im going to see it in london in febuary cant wait :)

I agree with you on everything you just said.

Also, Johnny was Baby's first love, probably even her first true love. You don't ever forget that. I think Baby was also Johnny's first true love. Do you think that? Even if they were to break up, both Johnny and Baby would have been foever changed from that summer.

Thanks for clearing up the scene after the love scene. I agree with you on that 100%. I love how they smile at each other. Like you said, they're saying "It's okay" when they smile. Sometimes, actions speak louder than words. Like when Johnny played the song "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" or the final dance. Again, like you said, he and Baby never once said "I love you" throughout the whole movie, but that song... said it all. It did what words could not. I feel like watching the movie now!

Here's the scene from YouTube when they play the song "Hungry Eyes" and also the final dance scene...

"Hungry Eyes"

YouTube - hungry eyes

The final dance

YouTube - Dirty dancing - time of my life

I want to find a love like Johnny and Baby had. That scene where Johnny and Baby are dancing and the song "Hungry Eyes" is playing, there's a line to the song that goes "I need you to see/That you were meant for me". I think Johnny and Baby were meant for one another and that they were soulmates. What do you think about that?

And I might have asked this before, but why was Johnny so mean to Baby in the begining?

I love this movie! I have it on VHS and on DVD. It my second all time favorite movie. I love everything about the movie!

Wow. Great that everything worked out. Their chemistry was what made DD absolutely brilliant.

I love this movie I used to dance around like baby when I was little!! :rotfl:

Yep! I love how Baby trusts Johnny enough to let him lift her in the air. And, I like when Johnny sings the end of the song to Baby- even though it's cheesy, it's so cute. Plus, the final dance is awesome! The song "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" says it all.... :sigh:

What I meant was that if at the end of the movie Johnny and Baby had decided to go their seperate ways, I think that Baby unable to get over him would have returned to see if she could find him. For her he was her everything and no one else could compare.

After the love scene it looks like Baby actually was running from Johnny's house. I think she had left, got dressed and then went back to see him to realize that he wasn't there. So she figures he went to see Penny. So when she arrives you can tell Johnny is extremely nervous because he knows Penny is not going to approve. I mean Baby is from a wealthy family, his young and everything is stacked against them. Also Penny doesn't want to see Johnny hurt. She's seen how he falls for girls that only use him for sex. Well its so uncomfortable in the room, Baby knows that its best to leave. She's not sure what is going on but decides to wait outside on the steps. When Johnny comes out he is surprised she is sitting there. I think in part he's hoping it was a one night fling because deep down he thinks it will never go anywhere especially after Penny told him to stop. When he looks at her he is unsure what to say and he can see that Baby is upset because she thinks she did something wrong because when she went inside Johnny was acting weird and she doesn't know why. So he tells her he needs to go help the guys and she is like sure. He says, " See ya," and starts walking off. Well all she wants to do is be with him and doesn't want it to end this way so she jumps up and says, " Johnny," sort of yelling and he turns away. He sees her face pained and he doesn't want to see her sad. So he decideds to smile to lift her spirits but also assure her that she did nothing wrong. So she smiles and she knows all is okay.

I mean Baby is still very nieve and doesn't understand men in a sense. So all this is new to her and Johnny has showed her that part of her she didn't know existed, the sexy side.

ooo i am so happy that there is a thread for dirty dancing! dirty dancing is one of my favorite movies of all time!! :D

My friend saw it, and she told me not to see it. I don't really want to see it, because, like you said, I don't want my love of this movie to be "tainted" by Havana Nights. Not that it's a bad movie.

Baby and Johnny really did need each other. :love_story: I love Johnny and Baby together... :sigh:

Did you mean that she would have gone back if she Johnny had not eneded up together or...? Oh, and you know after the love scene when both Baby and Johnny go and visit Penny in he room? Was he not so nice to Baby because he knew that what they did was wrong? And what did Baby say to Johnny as he was walking away? Or did she just smile, because it looked like her lips moved? But I could be wrong....

What was your favorite scene in Dirty Dancing?

I  this movie so much. Favrioute scene would be the final dance. It was pure perfection.
