Dirt Bike Recommendations?

A friend of mine is looking to buy a new dirt bike. He is around 5'7 and weighs 230lbs. He's not fat just bigger built. Right now he rides a 1994 Honda xr100 I think he said.

I know absolutely nothing about dirt bikes so I couldn't help him in the least.

So for a guy his size what kind of bike?
 
Trail bikes: Honda CRF230, Yamaha TT-R230

Performance woods bikes: Honda CRF250X, Yamaha WR250F, KTM 250XC-F

Motocross bikes: Honda CRF250R, Yamaha YZ250F, Suzuki RMZ250, Kawasaki KX250F, KTM250SX-F
 
dont get him a race bike.. he will dump his fat a$$.. lol.
but somethin like a crf 230 or a 250x a drz 250 or ttr 250 so prety much any 250cc TRAIL bike.. unless he wants to race.. than he could try the crf 250r. kx 250f. rmz 250. yz250 ktm250sx..
 
how old is he?
probably a 250f... or a 125 2-stroke..
hes a pretty big kid to big for a 85cc... 2stroke which is bigger then a xr 100, have him go a local motorcycle shop and sit on a few bikes, tell him to find a honda crf250f or a cr125.... or a yamaha...
250f or 125cc...
hope this helps, its a pretty big bike he might not be able to stand with both feet touching but for his weight its good..
