It seems I have forgotten some vital step for how to do this! I learned to do 9 DC, 3 DC in next ST, 9DC, skip 2 ST, and repeat. At end of row, CH 3, skip next ST, then DC 8, for a total of 9. That should put me back at the middle ST of the "hill." Doesn't seem to be working very well. What am I doing wrong? I just want to make a simple, multicolored, twin-bed sized afghan for my grand-daughter. I will appreciate any sage advice from seasoned Crochet veterans (my teacher has long since passed). Preferably in plain, easy-to-understand English. Thanks so much!
